We believe in doing our bit towards making the world a better kind of place for us all. That´s why we have policies on everything from giving the people who work at Meadowhall the training they want to recycling as much as we possibly can. We call it “Doing the right thing” and this means doing it for everyone –from our retailers to our shoppers and from the people of Sheffield to the citizens of the world!

• We´re the first shopping centre to have our very own recycling centre which swallows up a massive 95% of our waste and saves it from heading for landfill sites.
• We collect rainwater to flush hundreds of toilets and water thousands of plants all round the centre.
• We make it easy for people to leave the car at home and visit us by foot, bike, bus train or tram.
• We were the first shopping centre in the UK and the first location in Sheffield to install electric car charging points. Our recharging points are easily identified by the green bays located in the management car park, this facility can be used free of charge. The Meadowhall EV recharging point project was made possible through partnership with Sheffield City Council and grant funding contributions from the Energy Savings Trust.
