With so many ways to enjoy a day of festive fun, you can be sure there will be extra special ways we’re bringing the magic of Christmas to Meadowhall this year.

Look out for a magical snow flurry, with Meadowhall planning to make it snow for 10 minutes every day at 4.30pm outside in the Oasis Courtyard. Or meet our fun festive friends – including Mrs Claus, The Grinch, our festive Unicorn or Giant Gingerbread Men – who will be spreading Christmas cheer, causing mischief and giving a warm welcome to visitors throughout weekends in December and the week before Christmas. See the Christmas welcome page for the full details.

With Christmas baubles, Angel wings, Santa’s sleigh and a giant snow globe, there will also be plenty of opportunities to pose for that perfect festive selfie. And when you post your Christmas pictures on social, tag @lovemeadowhall and #MHChristmas to go into the draw to win a £300 Meadowhall Gift Card.

Shoppers will also hear the voices of local angels, with a selection of choirs performing throughout the festive period, or can take a trip to one of the Artisan Christmas markets to pick up some of Yorkshire’s finest local food, drink and crafts.

Meet Santa on his train

This year Santa is visiting Meadowhall on his very special train in December. Take a trip with your family on the Santa Express, meeting Santa and his Elves for an extra special Christmas experience.

Running every 20 minutes from 2pm – 8pm weekdays and 10am – 8pm weekends and holidays, passengers will board the train at the outdoor station – located next to the Oasis Dining Quarter Courtyard – and head off on a ride to before meeting Santa inside his warm and festive winter tipi at the end.

Throughout the journey there will be Christmas music and elves will be performing a song and dance routine to make it a truly magical trip for your family to remember. For FAQs, ticket prices and booking information see the Santa Express event page.

Support our Christmas charity

We’re supporting the amazing work of Bluebell Wood and its Twinkle Twinkle appeal this Christmas. The appeal is dedicated to giving families the chance to celebrate loved ones near or far at what can be a difficult time.

Help us to help this very special cause by donating £3, £5 or £10 at our Giving Box – located on Upper-Level High Street. You can use contactless payment to easily donate and there will also be a Christmas tree by the side of the Giving Box where you can hang your very own handwritten Twinkle Twinkle dedication.
