How are stores and services affected by the Government’s decision to close retail centres?

We understand that this is a difficult time, and want to reassure you that the health and safety of our customers, colleagues and communities is our top priority.

Following government guidance, all non-essential stores are now temporarily closed until further notice.

The below retailers are classified as essential. Please note the opening hours detailed below are for guidance only, we recommend contacting the stores prior to travel to avoid disappointment.

Toilets & Baby Change facilities are currently closed in The Oasis Dining Quarter Lower and Upper levels and on Upper Park Lane. All other facilities in the centre are open as normal.

If you are looking to charge your vehicle, our EV charging points are currently only available in our orange car park, near The Oasis Entrance.

Does Meadowhall Recycle?

Yes, Meadowhall does recycle all waste in the centre, and where we can't recycle waste it is sent to energy facilities to be turned into power for homes, schools and businesses.

Are there disabled spaces?

We have 350 disabled parking spaces, head to Orange Zone 1 car park for those nearest the Shopmobility Desk, near Argos entrance. For more information on Shopmobility, Click here

We also offer over 200 parent and child spaces.

Is there a quiet room in Meadowhall? Where are the quiet room facilities?

Meadowhall Quiet Room is available within the Management Suite for members of the public. Please contact Careline on 0333 313 2000 for the Quiet Room opening times and terms and conditions of use.
 

Does Meadowhall have any first aid facilities? Where are the first aid facilities at Meadowhall?

First Aid is located within the Meadowhall Management Suite, located at the back of The Oasis Dining Quarter near Pizza Hut and KFC.

Are there any phone or iPad charging facilities?

We have charging pods located at seating areas at various points throughout the centre.
 

Are there places to warm a baby bottle at Meadowhall? Is there anywhere to warm a babys bottle? Does Meadowhall have bottle warming facilities?

For the little ones, we have various bottle warming facilities around the centre. Find them at House of Fraser, Debenhams, Next, Pizza Express, The Oasis Dining Quarter and more. Check the mall guide in-centre for a full list of where you can find our bottle warming facilities.

Meadowhall shopping venue covers 1.4 million sq ft of floor space and inhabits 290 stores from top independent and international brands, 50 places to eat in Sheffield and drink, and an 11-screen cinema. Ever since it opened in 1990 on the site of a former steelworks, Meadowhall's been the place to shop in Sheffield in the region. Meadowhall Gift Card is the perfect gift for your friends and family, letting them choose exactly what they want, whether it’s a Birthday or Christmas present, to mark an Anniversary or just to say Thanks! Our Gift Card can be used in the majority of our stores and restaurants.   • For the time being, we will not be selling Gift Cards from the Customer Service desks in the centre, however the Gift Card kiosks are still available as a self-service option for customers.

  • Gift Cards are still available for purchase online ONLY.

  • We are currently no longer able to offer a Special Delivery postage option online due to Royal Mail being unable to guarantee this service.

Do Meadowhall provide staff car parking facilities?

Our Staff Car Park is temporarily closed. Staff are advised to park in the lower Pink Car Park or the Oasis Car Park.

Which entrances can staff & retailers use?

Everyone has been asked to use the staff entrance on lower park lane (using the Pink Car Park), the staff entrance within the service yard by the Oasis (using the Oasis car park).

 

Meadowhall provides a dedicated staff car park of 1,400 spaces less than 400m from the main entrances. This decision was made by the Retail Panel Association to ensure a ‘customer first’ approach. 

There are over 300 dedicated disabled parking spaces across the Centre’s car parks, available for blue badge holders. 

Meadowhall has implemented a temporary dispensation policy for employees, which is agreed and overseen by our Retail Panel Association. This process is available to view and download here.

We are proud to have been recognised and awarded for our car parks through Park Mark, an independent industry award. 

 

 

Is there Police at Meadowhall?

The safety and security of Meadowhall customers and retailers is our priority, Meadowhall’s partnership with South Yorkshire Police has run for over 25 years and continues to go from strength to strength. Over recent months Meadowhall has increased numbers of armed police, security staff and precautionary safety measures to protect the safety of our visitors and our team.

We are proud to be one the longest running security teams in any UK shopping centre, and to have been recognized across the industry for our work.  As a team, we are trained to the highest level to ensure the safety of all, working closely with a range of partners including the police and other emergency services. 

South Yorkshire Police have an on-site police station at the centre, working alongside our security team. Meadowhall is part of South Yorkshire Police’s Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS), which is a voluntary scheme under the Police Reform Act 2002, enabling the South Yorkshire Police Chief Constable to offer suitable employers and their employees within the county an accredited status in respect of them carrying out certain community safety functions. Meadowhall is accredited to CSAS contributing to maintaining and improving community safety.

What facilities are there for families with children?

We have various bottle warming facilities around the centre at House of Fraser, Debenhams, Next, Pizza Express and more.

 

Pushchair hire is available at Lower High Street near Argos and Wilko (Pushchairs suitable for children aged 1-2 years - 2 forms of I.D are required, 1 with full address details).

Your little ones can enjoy the soft play area in The Lanes for up to 3 years, or alternatively we have an outdoor Monster Play Area where they can let off some steam. PLEASE NOTE: The Monster Play Area will be closed from 29 April for renovations re-opening this summer 2019.

 

We also offer over 200 parent and child parking spaces.

Please be aware, our Toilets & Baby Change are open except for Oasis (lower and upper) & Park Lane.

 

Are there disabled changing facilities at Meadowhall?

There are disabled access facilities located within Changing Places just off The Oasis Dining Quarter, near Pizza Hut and KFC, with a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench, a hoist system, space for the disabled person and up to two carers, a privacy curtain and a non-slip floor.

Can I hire mobility equipment at Meadowhall?

Please be aware, Shopmobility are not currently taking advanced bookings & registered members ONLY. We apologise for any inconvenience.

You can hire a wheelchair or mobility scooters at Meadowhall. 

We have a number of wheelchairs and self-drive mobility scooters you can borrow. Just make sure you bring along 2 pieces of ID, one which includes your home address. You'll need to call us beforehand to book your scooter as we want to make sure we have one available when you need it. We’re proud to be working in conjunction with Parkgate Mobility. 

Note: Wheelchairs and scooters are subject to availability 

Available on Lower High Street near Argos and Wilko. We recommend parking in Orange Zone car park if you are driving.

What are the nearest transport links?

Meadowhall is the only major out of town retail centre in the UK with its own heavy rail and light rail offering excellent transport links with the Meadowhall Passenger Transport Interchange (PTI) across local and regional bus, train and Supertram services. Meadowhall is also directly next to the M1 if travelling by car. This unique degree of accessibility is celebrated by the centre as a key attribute, and is a significant factor contributing to the aims and objectives of the Meadowhall Travel Plan.

These overarching aims are: 

  • To improve the general understanding of sustainable transport options;
  • To encourage the Meadowhall team to use sustainable transport options;
  • To ensure a ‘people focused’ and targeted approach to ensure sustained travel.

Car

Leave Sheffield City Centre along the A61, leading onto the A6109 (M1 North) Brightside Lane. Continue for approximately 2.5 miles. Go straight on at the roundabout with Forgemasters on your right, then turn right at the 4th set of traffic lights.

Bike

There are cycle routes from both Sheffield and Rotherham. When you do arrive, cycle stands and lockers can be used for peace on mind.

  • We have dedicated cycle paths linking the Centre to both Sheffield and Rotherham as well as Transpennine routes 6, 62 and Five Weirs Walk.
  • Cycle stands and cycle lockers are located adjacent to the cycle path near the Oasis Dining Quarter entrance and children’s outdoor play area.
  • Further cycle stands are located at the lower High Street entrance of Orange Zone 1 car park (near the Argos store) and in the Passenger Transport Interchange adjacent to the bus parking bays.
When is the car park open and how many spaces do you have?

Our car park is open to customers every day of the week, so you don't have to worry about parking whether you're visiting us for a shopping trip, eating out or visiting the cinema. We have 12,000 parking spaces - all of which are absolutely FREE.
