The best advent calendars for 2023
Beauty, chocolate, toys and more at Meadowhall…
The Christmas countdown is finally here. This year’s biggest and best advent calendars are hitting the shops now. So head to Meadowhall and uncover this year’s most-wanted calendars, build your own and surprise loved ones… But get them now before they go (don’t forget Click & Collect)…
The biggest and best beauty advent calendars

Meadowhall is beauty advent calendar heaven… From The Body Shop’s Wishes & Wonders filled with top-to-toe treats (saving £109 on products) and Lush’s bath bombs and edible lip scrubs to gorgeous selections from Marks & Spencer (in store on 26 October), L’Occitane (there are three to choose from including a reusable one), Holland & Barrett, The White Company (“little daily indulgences”), Rituals, Molton Brown and Yankee Candle, it’s difficult to choose which one you’ll want.

Head to Flannels’ beauty hall to uncover their luxe selection of products featuring Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury, Dr Barbara Sturm (worth £625) and standalone buys from coveted brands; find Liz Earle, No 7 (one was sold every 10 seconds in the first week of release last year) and Soap & Glory at Boots and, don’t forget, Next Beauty which will be serving up their 2023 calendar filled with ESPA, Clarins and Neom. Enjoy your shopping…
Chocolate advent calendars

Lindt is an unmissable stop this Christmas – with a build-your-own advent calendar in-store – simply buy your box and fill it up; Hotel Chocolat has calendars for all ages (we love the cute reindeer and Santa character-filled one) including a grand £75 one and a vegan selection while Boots, Superdrug, WH Smith and Poundland have picks from Cadbury and Haribo – perfect for nieces, nephews, grandkids and more…
Unmissable advent calendars for kids – Lego, toys and Harry Potter

For an advent calendar that’ll last long past Christmas, kids’ toy selections are the perfect solution. Head to Lego, Argos, Smiggle and The Entertainer (their Mini Brands and Paw Patrol ones are brilliant) for toys and to TK Maxx, Waterstones and The Works for book calendars for every age from Disney, TV and beyond. Flying Tiger has bespoke ones you can fill up too.
Unlikely advent calendars for him and her
The advent calendar craze has exploded over the last few years to embrace everything from craft beer to beautiful charms via delicious food, drink and underwear. Uncover beautifully presented gifts to indulge your loved ones with ideas from Pandora, Ann Summers, Carluccio’s and Nespresso. FYI Menkind has everything from electronic games to sound synthesisers in advent calendar form.
